TactIQ Chess Academy was built around a simple frustration with how chess is usually taught: students play a lot of chess, but very little of that time is spent learning to think better.
Most chess classes teach students what move to play. TactIQ was built to teach students how to think before making that move, how to evaluate a position, calculate a variation, and understand a mistake once it happens.
That idea became TactIQ’s coaching philosophy: Purposeful Coaching. Every lesson is built around a clear objective, not just another hour on the board.
Every Minute Has a Purpose. Every Move Has a Purpose. Every Class Creates Measurable Progress.

Children can start learning chess from around age 5, depending on their ability to follow instructions, stay engaged and enjoy learning. At TactIQ Chess Academy, we focus on the child’s current understanding and learning needs rather than age alone. Our structured chess coaching helps children build their foundation step by step, from learning the chessboard and pieces to understanding tactics, strategy and complete games.
Yes. TactIQ Chess Academy offers chess classes for complete beginners who are starting with little or no previous chess experience. Students learn the fundamentals progressively, including the chessboard, piece movement, captures, check, checkmate, basic tactics and chess principles. The aim is to help beginners understand why they make a move, not simply memorise moves.
Yes. TactIQ Chess Academy provides live online chess coaching, allowing students to learn from home and interact directly with their coach. Online classes make it possible for students across India to access structured chess lessons, guided practice, game analysis and personalised feedback without needing to travel to a physical chess centre.
Students are grouped according to their current chess knowledge, playing ability and learning objectives rather than simply their age. Understanding a student’s level helps the coach choose appropriate lessons, practice positions and challenges. This allows beginners to build their fundamentals while more experienced players can work on areas such as tactics, calculation, strategy and game analysis.
